Dr. Michelle Pebole is a Research Health Scientist at the Translational Research Center for TBI and Stress Disorders (TRACTS) at the Boston Veterans Affairs Healthcare System and an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University Chobanian &amp; Avedisian School of Medicine. Dr. Pebole’s translational program of research is dedicated to understanding and addressing the physical, mental, and psychosocial health consequences of sexual and intimate partner violence. Her work evaluates exercise as a transdiagnostic intervention to improve health and wellbeing among individuals with histories of sexual and partner violence. She is focused on identifying and integrating trauma informed principles into the design and delivery of accessible, evidence-based interventions. Dr. Pebole also examines the intersections of physical and psychological violence, including post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury.
