Abbs Kortenhoeven, PhD

Abbs joined the TRACTS team in September 2026 as a postdoctoral research fellow. She received her PhD in Experimental Psychology with an emphasis in Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience from Texas Tech University. She was a 2025-2026 Fulbright-University of Bordeaux research grantee in Bordeaux, France, where she completed her dissertation research using EEG to study the impacts of biological sex and interpersonal trauma history on the neurophysiology of attention. She is interested in how interpersonal trauma impacts neural systems of attention and emotion modulation and is particularly interested in how the intersection between cognitive and clinical science can be used to improve patient outcomes. Outside of work, Abbs loves running, knitting, baking, and hanging out with her two cats, Lavender & Chamomile.
