Lilian Dindo, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Menninger Department of Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. She has received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Iowa in 2008. Prior to completing her doctoral degree, Dindo completed a clinical internship in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Dindo's primary research interests include: 1) developing innovative and pragmatic psychotherapeutic interventions aimed at improving the mental health and functioning of patients with health problems – with a particular focus on acceptance and commitment therapy as the treatment approach; and 2) identifying the psychological mechanisms of action in effective treatments. ACT on Health is currently studying the following conditions: migraine, depression, anxiety, and cardiovascular disease. In addition to conducting research, Dindo is also a clinician (mainly working with adults using acceptance and commitment therapy as the treatment approach), clinical supervisor, and teacher.
